MANAGING DIRECTOR

GUY STEENEKAMP graduated with a BArch cum laude from the University of Witwatersrand and joined the firm briefly in 1985. Prior to joining the practice, he was a design architect for several major commercial projects. He joined the firm again in 1996 bringing with him his expertise in high rise, high technology commercial projects, and latterly expertise in leisure related developments.

 

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

ABIMBOLA PARIOLA is an Executive Director responsible for Business Development and regional head for the West African operations. Prior to joining LYT she was a Senior Manager at Investec Property, a division of Investec Specialist Bank, JHB SA. Abimbola has over 10 years professional experience within the property/real estate arena of the investment banking space and the architectural profession. Abimbola is a natural leader with strong project management and delivery skills, as well as strong international and business strategy skills. Abimbola has a Postgraduate degree in Architecture from the University of Natal, SA and an International MBA from the Recanati Business School, Tel Aviv Israel. Abimbola is also an Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellow, which gives her access to a strong network of young African leaders across the continent and internationally.

 

ARCHITECTURAL DIRECTORS

CLIVE JEAREY graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 1980 and, after working for a few years for a smaller practice called Summerley, Ringrose Todd and Prevost (later to become Portal Partnership) where he became a partner in 1983. His specialist areas are commercial office buildings and schools.

PATRICK LEVICK graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 1980 and joined Summerley, Ringrose Todd and Prevost immediately after graduating. After opening and managing the firm’s office in Mafikeng for some years, he returned to Johannesburg and was made a partner in 1983. His expertise includes luxury domestic, school and industrial work in particular.

PATRICK NAYLER graduated with a B Arch degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1990. Patrick joined the firm in 2007 and became an associate in 2009, working on various commercial and public projects. Prior to this, Patrick worked as an Associate Architect at Portal Partnership, who then merged with TPS.P Architects.

WARREN STANLEY finished his architecture degree at the University of Natal in 1995 after having completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He worked for 2 years in London, after which he relocated to Johannesburg to start working at the firm in 2001. He has worked on a number of large high profile commercial projects as well as a plethora of projects in other fields including mining, residential and retail.

ROB THANE graduated with an MArch (Prof) degree from the University of Port Elizabeth. After running a small practice in Port Elizabeth for a few years he left and joined the firm in 2007. He was made an Associate Architect in 2008 and subsequently a Director in 2011. His areas of expertise include retail, industrial, hospitality and leisure.

JEETHEN PARAMASER studied for a National Diploma in Architectural Technology at ML Sultan Technikon in KZN. He joined the firm in 2001, he was made an Associate in 2007 and a Director in 2011.

OWEN KUTUMELA studied for a National Diploma in Architectural Technology at Technikon Northern Transvaal. He joined the firm in 1997 as a junior technician, he was made an Associate in 2007 and a Director in 2011.

RISHAN POLTON graduated in 1998, after working for 3 companies where he completed a variety of commercial offices, various government based projects such as schools and community centres and specialised in industrial buildings, he joined the firm 2007 and was made an associate in 2011.

GRAY TODD graduated with March degree from Port Elizabeth University in 2004 and joined the firm in 2006. He was promoted to Associate level in 2008. His expertise lies in commercial, education and residential type projects.

 

ASSOCIATES

RUSSELL KATZ graduated with a M.Arch (Professional) from the University of Witwatersrand in 2005 and a Diploma in  Interior Design previously at the Design Center in 1998. He joined the firm in 2005 where he was later made an Associate Architect in 2008. His specialist areas are commercial office buildings.

LORE DE BRUYN graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1987 and worked initially in Durban before relocating to Johannesburg and joining the firm in 2002. For the last 10 years she has been involved in the housing and commercial sectors of the company.

BRAD WALE graduated from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (formerly UPE) in 2005 and joined a local firm in Port Elizabeth specializing in exclusive residential designs and housing developments. He joined the firm in 2008 as a site-based architect for the Port of Ngqura project and has since managed a local office in PE, Eastern Cape. He was made Associate in 2012 and has been involved in industrial, commercial, retail,  mixed use and residential projects.

BRANDON GASSNER graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) in 2009, after establishing a relationship with the firm from 2003. He has progressed through a series of projects over the years to ground himself as a retail specialist focussing on regional malls throughout Africa. His portfolio includes malls in Lesotho, South Africa and more recently in Nigeria. Brandon was promoted to Associate in 2014, and has been involved in commercial, retail and hospitality projects to date.
